Mrs. Waunita Jewel Allen-Harger, age 85, of Deford, passed away Wed., April 5, 2006 at Willow Tree Haven, Gagetown.
She was born August 26, 1920 in Langdon, KS the daughter of the late Hugh and Bertha (Shaw) Reeves. Jewel married Burton Allen in 1937, he passed away in 1991, she then married Melvin Harger in 1992, he passed away in 1993. She was a homemaker and worked as manager of Mutual Savings, she loved flower gardening, especially African Violets & Irises. Jewel was a member of the former Deford Methodist Church, and most importantly she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Jewel is survived by her children, Lora (Shelby) Ennes of Elizabethtown, KY, Danny (Patricia) Allen of Deford, Juanita Phelps of Angela, IN and Jean (Alvin) Ellison of FL, step-children, Floyd (Elaine) Olmstead, Joan (Dick) Cummings, Beverly Reid, Daniel (Debra) Harger and Fred (Luanne) Olmstead, 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, David Allen and brothers, Vernon, Mitchell, Melvin, Doyle and Merlin.
Visiting is Thursday, April 6, from 7-9 PM, Friday, April 7 from 2-5 and 7 - 9 PM, and Saturday April 8, from 10 - 11 AM, time of service, at Deford Community Church, 1392 Kingston Rd., Deford with Pastor David Mercer officiating. Burial is in Novesta Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Gideons or to Deford Christian Academy.
